What can I expect if I book a farmstay at Prakruti Farms?

Prakruti Farms is a 5-acre natural and organic permaculture farm, not a conventional resort. Prakruti Farms offers a peaceful and rustic experience amidst nature. Expect comfortable accommodation, wholesome home-cooked vegetarian meals prepared fresh, and the opportunity to slow down and reconnect with the natural world. Spend your day listening to birdsong, walking through our food forest, observing farm animals, enjoying spectacular sunsets, or simply unwinding under the shade of trees.

For guests interested in deeper engagement, we also offer optional activities such as guided permaculture farm tours, bonfires, yoga sessions, art workshops, pottery experiences, and other nature-based activities. These can be arranged in advance and may be available at an additional cost.

A stay at Prakruti Farms is best suited for those seeking simplicity, tranquility, and an authentic connection with nature.

If you are looking for amenities such as swimming pools, clubhouses, entertainment zones, AC or luxury resort facilities, our farmstay may not be the right fit for you.

What type of accommodation is available?

Accepted Answer

Guests can stay in cozy cottages surrounded by lush greenery, orchards, and a thriving food forest, offering a peaceful retreat close to nature. We have 3 types of accommodation at Prakruti Farms - Flameback cottage, Hornbill and Ibis villaments.
Flameback is a 1 BHK independent cottage located at the entrance of the property.
Hornbill and Ibis are in the same villament which is tucked inside the farm amidst Chikkoo and coconut orchards. Hornbill is in the ground floor and Ibis is on the first floor with a separate staircase.

Is food provided during the stay?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Guests can enjoy wholesome vegetarian home-style meals prepared with fresh ingredients, including produce grown on the farm whenever available. Dinner and breakfast are included in the package.
We are unable to serve lunch as of now. So guests can order in Swiggy/Zomato (delivery services are available), or cook ny themselves or step out to the nearby restaurants for lunch.
Non-veg food can be ordered in Swiggy/Zomato, since we cook only vegetarian food.

What is the check-in and check-out time?

Accepted Answer

Standard check-in time is at 2pm and check-out time is at 12pm. 
Early check-in or late check-out may be accommodated subject to availability.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, Prakruti Farms is pet-friendly. We welcome well-behaved pets accompanied by responsible owners.

Please note that there will be an additional charge of Rs.1000 per day for the pet.

What animals are present on the farm?

Prakruti Farms is home to a variety of domestic and wild animals that contribute to the rich biodiversity of our natural ecosystem. You will find desi cows, chickens, sheep, dogs, cats, and honeybees living on the farm. The farm is also frequented by many species of wild birds, butterflies, beneficial insects, monkeys and occasionally snakes, which are a natural part of the surrounding environment.

Over the years, none of the animals on the farm have caused any harm to our guests. Monkeys may visit in search of food, but we kindly request visitors not to feed them. Feeding wildlife encourages them to become dependent on human interaction, which is not beneficial for either the animals or our guests.

As a nature-based farmstay, we believe in respecting and co-existing with all living beings. Sharing space with animals is an important part of the farm experience and offers a valuable opportunity to reconnect with nature and appreciate the balance of the ecosystem.

How can I make a booking?

Bookings or reservations for your farmstay experience can be made through our website in the Staycations page. You will be redirected to the Zotel booking platform page, where the reservation can be made.

Do the cottages have attached bathrooms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All guest cottages are equipped with attached bathrooms and basic amenities. Linen, towels and toiletries are provided.

Do you host farmstay guests during weddings or private events?

Accepted Answer

No. Prakruti Farms offers exclusive venue access for weddings and private events. Once an event is booked, the property is reserved solely for the hosts and their guests, and farmstay bookings are not accepted during that period. This allows everyone to enjoy complete privacy and an uninterrupted experience amidst nature.

Do the cottages have air conditioning (AC)?

No, our cottages are not equipped with air conditioning. This is a conscious choice that aligns with our philosophy as an eco-friendly farm stay.

At Prakruti Farms, we encourage guests to experience nature as it is, including the local climate and seasonal changes. Instead of relying on energy-intensive cooling systems, we use natural design elements such as tree cover, ventilation, and shaded surroundings, spreading coconut  leaves on the terrace, to help keep the cottages comfortable.

By not using air conditioning, we reduce energy consumption and environmental footprint such as CO and CFC emissions. While summer afternoons can be warm, mornings, evenings, and nights are generally pleasant amidst the greenery of the farm.
